Mr. Steve Lanza completed a distinguished career in the United States Army retiring as a Lieutenant General. Mr. Lanza commanded units at every echelon in the Army.  As a Commanding General in the U.S. Army, he directed the second largest employer in the state of Washington, executed an annual payroll of $5.8 billion, and programmed, prioritized and allocated an annual appropriated budget of $590 million and a contracting budget of $285 million to support global strategic objectives. He led a value-based organization of over 53,000 professionals and oversaw 46 departments with 258 services.

As a global senior executive and operational consultant in the private sector since his retirement in 2017, Mr. Lanza has applied a broad range of skills gleaned from his military service to serve private and public sector clients in such areas as executive strategy, operational leadership, global communications, public affairs, joint concepts and capabilities, military affairs, domestic policy, national security, account strategy and marketing, and military technology. He currently serves on several boards, including The Geneva Foundation, The Center for Climate and Security, and St. Martins University.

During his extensive military leadership career, Mr. Lanza served on multiple combat deployments as well as the Army and Joint Staff.  As the Army’s Chief of Public Affairs for the Secretary of the Army, he was instrumental in the formulation of communication and public affairs strategies, plans and policies.

As the Director of Strategic Effects for Multi-National Forces-Iraq, he coordinated and implemented political, economic, and communication activities; he also served as spokesman for the Multi-National Forces-Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

As Chief of Operations for the U.S. Army Europe, he coordinated security operations in 51 countries and oversaw operations, training, exercises, force management, plans and global re-basing for all 150,000 soldiers.

Mr. Lanza’s academic credentials include an M.S. in National Security from the National Defense University, an M.S. in Strategic Planning, an M.P.A. in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and a B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy.  He has also served as a National Security Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He is a Member of the Council of Foreign Relations and has an Honorary Doctorate from St. Martins University.  He maintains an Active Top-Secret Clearance.  Mr. Lanza resides in Lakewood, Washington.
