Steve Iselin joined The Roosevelt Group as a senior advisor in January 2019. Steve retired as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations & Environment in 2018 where he provided oversight of 95 Navy and Marine Corps installations worldwide.  He set policies and led programs for energy, environmental, installations management and safety.  From 2007 to 2014 Steve served as the Executive Director at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), leading the 20,000-person organization through a tumultuous period that included unprecedented workload fluctuations, hiring and pay freezes, and budgetary uncertainty. During his 20-year Navy Civil Engineer Corps career (completed in 2000) Steve held many assignments, including Public Works Officer at Naval Air Station Fallon, NV, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Program Manager for The Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), and Lead Infrastructure Analyst for CNO.  From 2000-2002 Steve led the Plexus Scientific, Inc. Infrastructure Analysis team supporting NASA, The Smithsonian Institution, HHS, and NAVFAC.

Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1980 and a Master of Science in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1986. His expertise includes budget development, BRAC, community partnerships, congressional and public relations, defense policy, encroachment management, environmental programs, installation energy management, military construction, housing privatization, and strategic basing.
