Angel Mesa

Colonel (ret.) Angel Mesa brings over 27 years of leadership and operational experience leading large, diverse international teams in planning and executing complex problem-solving. Angel has served in numerous roles throughout his Army career which includes multi-lateral events throughout Africa, deployments to the Balkans, Iraq and as a Battalion Commander to Afghanistan.

After retiring from military service, Angel was selected as a business development representative for CalypsoAI an artificial intelligence/machine learning Series A startup centered on test, evaluation, validation and verification (TEVV) of machine learning models. Angel also worked for SparkCognition Government Systems which is a full-spectrum artificial intelligence company to implement and execute strategic plan for business development and new sales.

Most recently, Angel was selected as the Saab Inc. portfolio lead to identify and qualify growth opportunities across four Saab business areas. He spearheaded a multi-year business development campaign plan across defense space centered on INDOPACOM and building business unit team collaboration which resulted in a $11B pipeline over a 5-Year period and expanding qualified pipeline by 50%.

Mesa holds a Master’s in Business Analytics from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the University of Miami. His hobbies include bowhunting, cycling and travel.
