Brian Schaffner

Brian is an Advisor at The Roosevelt Group, specializing in national security policy and congressional affairs. He brings nearly two decades of experience advising clients on national security policy and funding opportunities in both the public and private sectors. He has worked with state and local governments and Department of War (DoW) suppliers of all sizes, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small business suppliers. Through his knowledge of the authorization and appropriations process, and federal law, he has developed and executed successful strategies for a wide range of clients. This experience has helped him secure millions of dollars in federal funding for some of these clients. Brian prides himself on his ability to build and maintain bi-partisan relationships across the U.S. government and deliver results for clients.

Prior to joining the private sector, Brian served as the Senior Legislative Assistant to former Rep. Kathy Hochul who served on the House Armed Services Committee before being elected Governor of New York.  Prior to that he worked as the Military Legislative Assistant and Appropriations Director for former Rep. Dan Maffei.
