WASHINGTON, February 11, 2025 – The Roosevelt Group (TRG), a government affairs and strategic advocacy firm specializing in national security, announced today that Faiq Raza, a seasoned Capitol Hill and Department of Defense (DoD) professional and Marine Corps veteran, has joined TRG as a Senior Advisor.

Faiq brings extensive bipartisan policymaking experience in the national defense space, particularly in the areas of defense acquisition, cyber and emerging technologies, personnel, critical infrastructure, and intergovernmental affairs. Most recently, he served in the Department of Defense, first as Special Assistant  to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower & Reserve Affairs and later with the Department of Defense Office of Legislative Affairs, where he was the Pentagon’s liaison to Capitol Hill on Acquisition & Sustainment matters.

Prior to his executive branch service, Faiq spent nearly seven years on Capitol Hill, where he specialized in defense and foreign policy. He was the National Security Advisor to Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), a member of both the Armed Services and Appropriations Committees, and to Rep. Denny Heck (D-WA), a member of the House Intelligence Committee. Faiq began his congressional career in the office of Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

Faiq’s service to our country goes beyond his legislative and policy experience. Faiq enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and served as a Rifleman, deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel..
