WASHINGTON – The Roosevelt Group, a government affairs consulting and strategic advocacy firm with an emphasis on defense and homeland security, announced today that Jamie Jones Miller has joined the firm as a senior advisor.

“The Roosevelt Group is growing, and the best way to serve our clients is by bringing people like Jamie Jones Miller to the team. Jamie is an exceptional talent – an expert in her field, an excellent relationship manager, a gracious colleague and a friend and mentor to many. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to our firm,” said John Simmons, a managing partner of The Roosevelt Group.

Jamie comes to The Roosevelt Group following a distinguished career including leadership roles in both the Department of Defense and Congress. As the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs, Jamie advised the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense on legislative strategy and executed the congressional engagement strategy. She managed relationships with members of Congress and key congressional staff, the military departments as well as the White House, National Security Council and federal departments and agencies in support of DOD priorities.  Jamie played key roles in several areas, including as the chair of the annual Deputies Legislative Review Panel and as a member of the Space Working Group, and she managed the nomination process for over 50 positions requiring Senate confirmation including the 27th Secretary of Defense and the 34th Deputy Secretary of Defense. She led a blended workforce of civilian, political, military and contract employees and managed office operations and budget.

Prior to joining Secretary of Defense Mattis at the Pentagon, she served as Chief of Staff to senior House Armed Services Committee Member Rep. Rob Wittman (VA-01). Jamie is an active alumna of James Madison University and Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority, and volunteers on several boards and councils.

“I am thrilled to join The Roosevelt Group, a team I came to know and respect as a congressional staffer and subsequently as a senior leader at DOD for their commitment to the men and women who serve our country and the communities and industry who support them.”
