Thad Hunkins

Colonel (ret.) Thad Hunkins joined The Roosevelt Group in February, 2022, to create a company-wide technological solution for harnessing client initiatives generated by 70+ TRG team members to streamline operations and enable strategic decision making.  Colonel Hunkins graduated college from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1988 with a B.S. in Computer Science & Mathematics.  He entered the Air Force that same year and attended Pilot training in 1989.  In 30 years, he flew nearly 4,000 hours across jet (T-38), helicopter (UH-1), and turboprop aircraft (C-12).  As the Commander of a dual aircraft squadron at Yokota AB, Japan, his team successfully masterminded a full-scale shift from C-21 to C-12 operations without a single lost minute of mission continuity.  His final two assignments were in the Diplomatic Corps as the Air Attaché to Cairo, Egypt and the Defense Attaché to Ottawa, Canada.  His experience in the operational flying community coupled with the nuanced Diplomatic Corps honed Colonel Hunkins’ respect for the impact of cultural and tribal norms on organizational outcomes.  He has earned three Masters’ degrees from the University of Montana, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College.  Since retiring in 2018, he began his own management consulting business until taking over the small business NCC Systems Inc., an electronic security and fire systems integration company as principal owner and CEO in December 2018.   Thad sold that business in 2021 and has resumed his management consulting business, TC Loox Consultants, LLC in Washington D.C. focusing on identifying streamlined, efficient business practices that enable data-driven strategic business decisions.  Thad has been married to Christine for over 34 years, lives on Capitol Hill in DC, and has 3 grown children, Mark (30), Greg (27), and Sarah (25).
