Joseph Sabel has over 35 years of experience in energy and environment in both Federal and private sectors. This includes senior management roles in several agencies, and as managing director of a consulting company. Prior to joining the Roosevelt group in January 2018, Mr. Sabel headed the role of Managing Director of Energetics Incorporated, a consulting firm serving the energy sector. In this position he was responsible for all aspects of the company consisting of approximately 100 employees and revenue in the order of $12 million.

Prior to that position, Joseph served as Deputy of the Department of Veterans Affairs Energy Management Program. In this role Joseph supported leadership in the management of Energy, Environment, and Transportation at the enterprise and policy level. His tasks included developing and publishing departmental policies across these subject areas. Mr. Sabel supported the Director in the management of a staff consisting of up to 14 people with various technical qualifications and annual budgets of over $200 million. The total portfolio of projects underway, in process, and in planning reached nearly $1 billion. Joe received a Bachelor of Science in Geology at Iowa State University, a Master of Science in Geology from South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies at the Naval War College.
