Defense & Homeland Security

The Roosevelt Group’s Defense and Homeland Security practice consists of team members with in-depth policy backgrounds in defense, intelligence and homeland security matters. A majority of the TRG team also possess security clearances. The team represents large and small defense companies that produce equipment and provide services to the federal government including those focused on information technology, medical health, logistics, energy efficiency solutions, architectural and engineering services, military construction, foreign language training, and force protection solutions.

The Roosevelt Group leverages its connections within the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Congressional authorization and appropriations committees, and key Members of Congress. The relationships help us identify and analyze federal business opportunities and develop strategies to secure federal funding for our clients. We support a wide variety of large and small defense and homeland security companies that produce equipment and provide services to the government, including those focused on information technology, health, logistics, energy efficiency, architecture, engineering, military construction, foreign language training and force protection solutions.

Our team regularly assists our defense and homeland security clients gain access to, and insight from, senior decision-makers confronted with requirements and the need to develop solutions to solve problems. We have worked directly with Pentagon and DHS decision-makers on the development of requirements and advocated before Congress to ensure funds are identified and protected to meet requirements. We routinely provide long-term strategic guidance to our clients, based on analysis, first-hand situational awareness of real-world requirements and a keen sense of budgetary realities.

TRG works in conjunction with our strategic partners, Akin Gump Strauss Haur & Feld LLP, on national security and defense policy issues. Akin Gump’s defense policy team includes lawyers and advisors with prominent backgrounds in the private sector, the military and the legislative and executive branches of government. Among our national security professionals are former Members of Congress with defense appropriations experience, an ambassador who led the Pentagon’s foreign military sales portfolio and a former Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense.
