Cybersecurity is a sprawling topic that includes national, international, government and private industry dimensions. Cybersecurity vulnerabilities challenge governments, businesses and individuals worldwide and are growing increasingly relevant. Although Congress has been actively involved in cybersecurity issues, holding hearings every year since 2001, no comprehensive cybersecurity legislation has been enacted since 2002.
The Roosevelt Group assists Bossier Parish, La., to retain and attract new missions at Barksdale AFB and in the development of homeland security- and defense-related cyber missions at the Cyber Innovation Center (CIC). The CIC is a public-private partnership with a focus on academic outreach programs to build a sustainable knowledge-based cyber workforce. TRG’s advocacy extends to the Pentagon, Air Force, intelligence community, Department of Homeland Security and Congress to help gain support these initiatives. The firm has successfully increased the visibility of the CIC at the most senior levels inside the Department of Homeland Security and on Capitol Hill, resulting in increased Congressional appropriations to the CIC and to the establishment of Department-wide cyber education missions at the CIC.
Our team assists SRC with homeland security projects including the recently awarded $41.9 million contract with the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The funding was used to establish and maintain a Security Operations Center to help protect critical information technology infrastructure. This contract enables ICE to monitor its information technology assets 24 hours a day, and evaluate and respond to cyber security threats.
