Christopher J. Goode, Captain, U.S. Navy (Ret.)
Christopher J. Goode is co-founder and managing partner of The Roosevelt Group. With more than 25 years of experience, Chris represents clients with needs related to federal appropriations, defense, homeland security, space and technology.
His bipartisan client base includes a variety of organizations, including small research and development firms, large companies targeting government procurement, state economic development entities and community groups focused on military installation enhancement.
Prior to founding The Roosevelt Group in 2012, Chris worked for 15 years in a variety of lobbying and government relations roles. He served as a policy advisor at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, a Washington, D.C.-based public affairs and law firm where he specialized in defense and homeland security issues. While there, Chris represented 16 installations throughout the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process.
Before joining Akin Gump, he headed Bombardier Services’ Washington, D.C., government relations office, where he was responsible for Congressional relations and U.S./international sales of specialized Bombardier defense products and services. Chris also served as a Principal at SRA International where he led Navy business development activities.
Chris served 25 years as a Navy officer and retired as a Captain. In 1995, he was Director of Administration for the BRAC Commission. He spent seven years on active duty on at-sea assignments, as well as at the Joint Staff and the White House. He served in the Navy Reserves with the Navy Staff, Navy Command Center, Navy Central Command, Fleet Forces Command and NATO.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Holy Cross and a Master of Arts in international relations from the Fletcher School of Diplomacy at Tufts University.
